Forty years ago, we wanted to leave the church just this way.  There were no side-cars to be found.  Last year we celebrated by taking a ride around Fredericksburg on our own motorcycle and sidecar.

Rooster Cogburn - In 2004, our resident rooster met with a mysterious death.  He has been dearly missed, but not so dearly to replace him with another.  I don't think Precious would appreciate a new rooster.  She is a one-rooster feline!

John and Marilyn Schulz

...chief residents (owners /  hosts)

Nine years ago, we started this adventure.  One of the wonderful parts of our business is the pleasure of meeting new people and visiting with them.  We often send them off feeling like we have gained new friends or family members.  It has been a true delight and blessing!  The "residents" you see on this page have also brought joy and wonder to our lives.  We marvel at their friendship with one another and their quirky personalities.  They have grown older.  Honey Bear can't jump in the truck to go for a ride.  Mama Kitty seems to move just a little slower.  We've added a few new "kiddos" to our group...even a granddaughter!

Our lives are quite busy working here.  There is always something to be done, especially if your facility is over 100 years old.  We also teach school.  John teaches high school math and I teach kindergarten.  You might say "our plates are full!"
