Blumenthal Farms Bed & Breakfast
Located on U.S. Hwy. 290,
Blumenthal Farms is five miles west of Stonewall and 10 minutes from
Fredericksburg. We are approximately three miles away from Luckenbach and
within close driving distance to other area attractions. There are several
wineries in the area.
Blumenthal Farms backs up to
the meandering Pedernales River. You can stroll down to the river and
bird-watch or wade in the cool shallow waters. Come visit the beautiful Hill
Country area and relax in a rustic old German-built saloon. Founded in the late
1800's by the Hohenberger brothers, this was a small agricultural business in
the Blumenthal community near Stonewall and Fredericksburg, Texas. There was a
cotton gin, a blacksmith shop, and the saloon. A new saloon was built in 1908
with the hopes that it would be a successful d ance
hall. According to those who still remember, the new saloon became a store and
gas station. The old saloon remained opened. Time changes things and today
the cotton gin and the blacksmith shop no longer stand at Blumenthal. The old
steam engine that ran the cotton gin, the general store, the saloon, the old
smokehouse, and the family home still remain. Today, the old saloons house a Bed
and Breakfast establishment. A full breakfast is offered to guarantee you
won't go away hungry.
